O.H.T.M. hosted Rosey Gerry to do one of his world famous public  automobile presentations. His subject for this one was Vintage Stock Car Racing. The theme of this show traced the development and evolution of automobile racing especially in our own State of Maine. The presentation included some historical background  on the origin of auto racing, some informative, as well as humorous, stories how Rosey got into the vintage  racing hobby. Wicked Good club President, Ron Clark, spoke as well, recalling his days as a youngster in the 50's and getting interested in the dirt track drivers who became his heros and fueled his inspirations.  Another vintage race car restorer, Steve Pellerin, gave the crowd some additional history and stories about this great hobby as well. A slide show by Rosey, complete with descriptions of old racing action photos rounded out the evening which ended with a question and answer session and lots of great discussion.

A beautiful line of cars tracing some of the changes in race cars over the years.

John Rice's 1937 Pontiac Coupe Modified. Power for this great looking car comes from a nicely tweaked 283 cubic inch Chevy

This beautiful 1904 Renault can be seen at OHTM.
The tread pattern on the tires says "NON-SKID"

An early speedster-style car also on display at OHTM.

The Cragar Special, another OHTM speedster.
Did you notice that the roll bar for these early racers would be your head???

Another special treat at this presentation, was the incredible display of model vintage stockcars belonging to Steve Pellerin. These tiny cars are extremely detailed and are built as replicas of actual Maine stockcars that raced years ago.

Wicked Good Vintage Racing Assoc. has been growing by leaps and bounds. We have been fortunate to have our events and cars appear in a nationally  known  west coast publication. The magazine, Vintage Oval Racing, has done several stories about our appearences at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, Unity Raceway, Owls Head, as well as a Special Interest article with photos describing our group. We even had two of our members cars, Colin Shields #A-1 Ford and Erica Clarks #33 Ford, featured on the front cover (bottom right)

Stockcar racing, 50's style,
 has returned to Maine!!!
