Paul Shorette - Fairfield

Year: 1956
Make: Studebaker Golden Hawk
Engine: 289 Studebaker V-8
Class: Early Late Model

When was the last time you saw a 1956 Studebaker Hawk race car? This one may have been the last of "Ol' Sol" Earle McSorley's well known # 13 - 13 race cars.  This car raced at Unity Raceway long ago.
Thank you, Earle, for all you gave us for so many years.

Believe it or not, this original race engine turns  freely, and maintains 50 lbs. oil pressure just towing it in the yard.  Bet this one is going to power up once again !

Now is this just about the coolest dash cluster you have ever seen or what?

And THIS is ? ? ?

Could this be Paul "Ginsu" Shorette's new
"Early Late Model/Modified"?

This mystery car has been chopped, channeled, dropped, sectioned, and grafted.

Pretty low, huh? Looks like there's a trend in Pauls style.Would you believe this low riding custom on the left, started out as a 1950 Ford Coupe before it got "Ginsu'd" ?? The Hawk is a ground hugger as well.Actually Paul was trying to locate a 1930 to 1948 coupe to build a vintage race car, before he acquired the "HAWK" above. Paul intends getting the "OLE SOL" back on the track soon for some Wicked Good fun.
The Ford will be a street driven Custom when finished.
